A solid Bronze relief plaque set on a marble background in agold gilt frame carved by renowned British Sculptor Edward, William Wyon.
Titled night and day, the piece was awarded a Royal Society of Arts & Commerce (RSA) British medal which is embedded into the back of the marble stone adding to its value. The plaque sits in an ornate, heavy gold gilt frame and dates around 1848. Looking at the blacksmith forged nails holding the marble in the frame on reverse - this is likely to be it's original frame. Even the nails are a handcrafted work of art ! 24cm x 44 cm
